Our Wonderful District again!

Hola Familia!
Les amo :) :) :) :) :)

Today went and played futbol with all the missionaries (casi hna jones and a few others couldn't make it) de Ixtapaluca. It was so fun :).
I surprised all the elders by actually playing soccer with them instead of just standing on the field and screaming when the ball came my way. I may not have a lot of skill-talent-practice but I play with GANAS! Plus I win with trampa. With some of the elders I literally just have to charge them and they back off the ball.  Haha, well that's only 2 of them-- the rest play well but Elder Lopez es tan chiquito! He is one of the best players and is super fast but super short and when I go up against him I feel like a giant! he plays well, but he always comes out of it "No manches Hna Lambert--me da miedo"

I think it is a cultural thing because the American elders were like, "Whats the big deal? It is a girl playing soccer? she doesn't even play that well!" and all the latinos were like "ESO HERMANA! JUEGA ASI!!!!!!!!" The girls here just don't play sports, like at all, ever. When latinos High-5 a sister they do it softly because they are afraid to hurt us. When we shake hands they do the dead fish thing because they are afraid they are going to crush our hands.  Plus, I may not be in great shape but I can still run and I don't know why but the other sisters don't seem to be able to.

I am super tired and I have to go pack because I am going to go spend a day and a half with Jones and Carraso up in Monte corona! WHOOO I'm going to the mountain. so I will write more later but I love you guys and JOSEPH I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY LETTER ITS BEEN 8 MONTHS!

WEEK 34: Hello!

Early morning study

A member is Mary Kay rep--she taught us to put on makeup!

With my wonderful HERMANAS!

Hello Family of mine!

I love you. I love you all more than I can say. I went to the temple today for the first time in what feels like so long. As I was there I remebered again the purpose of this life--to learn and grow in families. I am so grateful to be part of this family and to have parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles who are such great examples of how to LIVE the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am constantly amazed at the love that God has for us, that he prepared a plan so perfect. He knew that we weren't going to be perfect when he sent us here to earth. He knew that we were going to fall just as a parent knows that we can't go from crawling to walking without a few bumps and bruises. He doesn't condemn us for falling. When a baby falls in her attempts to walk and starts to cry and seems to say "not this, this is too hard, maybe I will just crawl forever" her parents don't say,  "You failure! How could you fall? now you can never learn to walk!" NO! Parents console, they lift their little one up, and say, "try again, sweetheart, try again. One more time."
God is our loving Heavenly Father. When we fall into temptation, when we are weak, he does not condemn us, but through the atoning and redeeming sacrifice of Jesus Christ he lifts us from the floor where we sit crying, saying, "This is too hard. I will never be the person, mom, wife, daughter I want to be." He lifts us and says "Don't cry, sweetheart. Try again, let me help you, one day you will learn to walk. And much more than that, you will learn to run."

God sees in us potential we can not yet understand.  Just as a baby can't see why it is so darn important that they learn to walk when thy are doing just fine scooting along on the floor!

I hope that all of you have felt God's love for you. and if you haven't I promise that if you kneel down to pray and ask him, he will help you to see how much he loves you. Without sincere prayers we are lost in this world full of confusing voices and various demands. God is conscious of all our needs, questions, worries and desires--and he wants NOTHING more than to bless us. To recieve all the blessings he has in store, all we have to do is follow the path that Christ marked with his example.
So yeah, I Iove you guys. My mission is going all too fast and I feel like in no time at all I will be back with you!

Week 33: Snow?

Ixtapaluca, Check out the snow-capped peaks in the background!

Our drinking water
Love the sunshine and the mouintains!

The road from our apartment to our area.

Champion Companions!

Hola familia!
It was so great to see all of you guys playing in the snow :) Tabitha loks so tall! Hyrum looks so grown up. Joseph looks like a friendly giant with fantastic eyebrows. And Mom, well as my comp said, you look just like me!

And sorry, Dad, I did drink the water. I just had one cup because I have been scared of getting sick but a week has passed and nothing happened. I mean my stomach has been really inflamed the past week but that's pretty normal when you always eat Mexican food. For the first 5 months of my mission my stomach hurt every day till I forgot what it felt like to eat without being in pain afterwards. Then one day after I hit my 6-month mark I realized my stomach didn't hurt! and I was pretty sure it hadn't hurt the day before either! It certainly was a turning point in my mission. hahaha but really... Entonces, being inflamed this week wasn't really anything out of the normal.

The cold continues here in Ixtapaluca and I have upped it to 6 blankets and we got a spaceheater, but it doesn't really work so it is more just for decoration.

This week we were really blessed to find a bunch of new investigators and interestingly enough all of them are male for the first time in my mission. We have Tonatiuh (which  means God of the sun), Alex, Juan, Fabio, and Areli--well Arieli is a girl.

And yes, dad, we sould definitely hike these mountains when we come back to visit. It will be super challenging but lots of fun!

I gave a talk in sacrament meeting this Sunday and Prez and Hna Stuz came down to see me! Ok, ok, they didn't come down JUST to see me-- they were planning a visit anyways but they are just like awesome grandparents and when they come to visit they give us hugs and candy and it is just about the best day in the world. Hna. Stuz bought us all leggings to help us combat the cold. I love them so much they are the greatest :) The Stuz's, not the leggings, but those are great as well.  How funny that the first time I am wearing leggings in public I'm on my mission.

Thanks for the photos! Keep them coming!

Love you all! Hna lambert
